Frequently Asked Questions

Are there any connection fees or charges?

We don't charge standard connection fees for our nbn® services. Although, if you're in a new property development or require additional installation work, nbn® may apply extra charges which will be clearly shown during the sign-up process before issuing any charges. Still have questions? Get in contact with our team.

Will my current hardware work with my new service?

If you're signing up with National PC Connect, you can bring your own modem if it is nbn® compatible and not locked to your previous provider. Although, we can help you choose from our range of nbn® compatible modems and routers to suit your needs. Contact our team if you have any questions about your modem or finding the right one.

How long will it take to connect my service?

We understand you can't go without internet, that's why we make switching easy and hassle free. If you're already connected to the nbn®, installation typically happens within 1-5 days. If you've never been connected to the nbn®, you'll likely need an nbn® tech appointment, which is usually 2-5 weeks. The nbn® technician will come to your property to install any equipment, then we can connect your service.

What is the $0 fibre upgrade?

The $0 Fibre Upgrade is part of the nbn® Fibre Connect initiative, which allows eligible homes to upgrade from older copper-based connections — like Fibre to the Node (FTTN) or Fibre to the Curb (FTTC) — to Fibre to the Premises (FTTP) at no cost. This upgrade delivers faster, more reliable internet. National PC Connect is proud to offer $0 FTTP upgrades to select eligible addresses when you switch to a qualifying high-speed nbn® plan (100/40 or above). Check your eligibility or chat with our friendly onshore team by calling 1300 364 930.

Why are all speeds not available at my house?

Not all NBN speeds are available at every house due to a combination of factors related to your connection type and the technology used to connect you to the NBN network. If you're unsure if you can get one of our high-speed plans, our Client Success Team can assist you on 1300 364 930.

I live at a rental property, can I still upgrade to nbn® Fibre?

You’ll need the landlord’s permission to upgrade to nbn® Fibre at their premises as it may require work to the property to set up the connection, such as drilling into walls.

We’ve created a customisable letter that you can send to your landlord or property manager. Download the letter template.

Once you have approval, we can proceed with the upgrade.
